Who is "society"?

Thank you for your response Dear Lioness,
The primary problem we’re facing is the fact that NO ONE seems to take credit for what we call “society”..
We tend to think that “society” is some thing..some collective outside force… that seems to have silently set certain standards we MUST go by..
We often utter: “ Oh that’s how today’s society is …what can you do?” As if we have absolutely no part in it..
Who decided what‘s ugly ?... or that “aging” is detrimental?..
SOCIETY did!! ….But WHO IS “society”??
WE ARE!!..Every single human being is part of it..Those in the media, politics or in the government are NO different than we are!!
When we start to realize that we all have an equal amount of influence upon our society…
Only then can we change the current societal structure.
The initial change however, has to start with the individual.. the fundamental part of society..
The individual's identification with the society created mind, is the mere reason for the fallacy of human interaction...which in turn creates separation.
A change in state of mind required..not a change in societal structure…...the latter will follow...

Who to blame...?

Society has imposed its standards on us and we’ve unknowingly accepted and maintained and followed them…...
This acceptance has led us to avoid being ourselves in order to avoid non acceptance..by society..
We’ve reached a point that almost one hundred percent of our interactions exhibit some form of untruth… regardless of how minute it may be…or seem to us rather…each mind operates differently .
How can any society in which the most basic human interactions are based on falsehood, function properly on ANY level..??

If we were raised to:.."hide this, suppress that, be this, judge that, look like that" … by” societies”standards ..NOT OUR OWN…WHY do we keep blaming each other for behaving the way we do towards one another?
Greed, fear, distrust and hate are all mental attributes we adapted not because we found it necessary..because SOCIETY taught us that it’s necessary for one to succeed and survive in this world.

Wars were never fought to create peace…AT LEAST one of the warring parties uses the pretense of peaceful intent as a means to gain power over another…which in turn..
will NEVER create a peaceful situation...

The fallacy of human interaction..a global dilemma..

Why we need roles...

Thank you for your comment Dear Lioness…
The last 22 years of my life I’ve maintained a journal on my own behavior in numerous different situations and life settings.
What I realized is that we ALL deal with the same exact issues..but just on different levels and intensities, depending on our state of mind …or rather : The state of mind we ended up with, after years of being alive..in our current society as we know it..

I realized that the ONLY reason why we play these different roles is because we want those who surround us, to perceive us the way WE want to be perceived…Society has SOMEHOW imposed certain roles on us …..roles we need to play ..in order to fit “it”…”It” being society.
If we play the society imposed role perfectly well, we get the FULL benefit from that relationship or setting.
Let me explain:
You’re looking for a job as a stock broker at a prominent stock broker’s firm…You adjust your resume to reflect MOSTLY if not ONLY the characteristic traits one needs, to secure a job at the firm(society induced behavior)…You get an interview and dress and speak exactly how one needs to dress and speak to secure a job at the firm(society induced behavior)…You get the job as a stock broker…but now you want to become a manger…so you do what it takes to get to that… which usually means kissing up to your superiors or excessively overworking yourself..(society induced behavior)…and so on…
The same applies, when a man is trying to get the attention from a woman…to have a relation ship with…or vice versa nowadays…
Ponder this for a minute…

The roles we play ..we play consciously….yet we we’re not aware of playing them…
And to take it even further Dear Lioness…We think that the ONLY way we’re going to become successful in life …is to play these roles to the TEE…which in turn, is supposed to result in the so called “happiness” we are all searching for…!

You say: “So what do we do in a world full of characters playing all these roles?”
That all depends on the individual...If you are happy with your life ..then you need to do nothing it all…but chances are..you’re not ….almost NO ONE is…and if they are…it’ll soon change ….Because their happiness was derived from the outside…and NOTHING in the outside world EVER remains the same...That's just the nature of our reality...

Happiness derived from SOCIETY…
There is no happiness in appeasing society!!!..we know this but still continue as if we don’t…EVERYONE feels hopeless…or is it.. HYPNOTIZED rather?

Roles we play...

If we sit back and really observe human interaction...,our own interactions..we'll realize how much of it is fabricated, staged and acted out!.....How many of our daily interactions with others are REALLY real ??? And why not ??

All human interactions seems to be an exchange of opinions, ideals and agreements between role playing actors...the human.
We all seem to have a group of roles to play ,depending on our surroundings...or better yet;.. depending on WHO is surrounding us!...

We ALL play roles!...Me the customer, She the doctor..You the cop!...We play the roles we assign to ourselves....
Instead of living up to ourselves we found that living up to our roles is more beneficial...or actually ...it's been so automatic that this behavior pattern is adopted by default!

Let me clarify somewhat:

We have a different personality with our friends as with our bosses, as with our kids , as with our parents as with the maid as with the busboy ...as with our idols..as with the homeless man......and the list of roles goes on....we MUST be aware of ALL those personalities otherwise we wouldn't be able to switch to the corresponding personality when needed...But yet we think we have ONE personality......

It must be the one that GOVERNS when and how to switch into the sub-personalities...

Looks more like a self induced form of conscious schizophrenia to me...

So...which one of the personalities are you really?...

Do you see our internal dilemma?
